The present document outlines the Official Regulations and Operational Policies for the Lan Party Castellbisbal. Its primary objective is to ensure a secure, high-performance, and collaborative environment for all attendees.
1. Schedule and Access Control
- Operational Hours: The venue will remain operational 24 hours a day throughout the event.
- Zoning: Two distinct areas are established: a Public Access Zone for visitors and a Restricted Access Zone exclusively for registered participants.
- Authentication: Participants must be properly credentialed to enter the Restricted Zone. Once accredited, they may enter or exit at any time. For security purposes, presenting the official event ID is mandatory for every entry and exit.
- Age Requirements: * Minimum age for registration is 14.
- Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Participants under 18 are prohibited from remaining on-site during the night shift (23:00 to 08:00).
2. Identification Policy
- Credentials: Every participant will receive a personal, non-transferable identification badge. This must be visible at all times.
- Responsibility: Each user is responsible for their own badge. Using a third-party ID—even from a team member—is strictly forbidden.
- Verification: Staff may request identification at any time for identity audits or enforcement of event policies. Loss or damage to the ID should be reported immediately.
3. General Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to maintain professional standards of civility, including:
- Treating all attendees and staff with respect.
- Refraining from verbal or physical aggression and indecent behavior.
- Hygiene & Order: Keeping assigned workstations clean. Please utilize the designated waste containers provided throughout the hall.
- Safety: Keeping aisles and walkways clear of hardware, cables, or personal belongings to ensure unobstructed circulation.
4. Controlled Substances Policy
- Smoking/Vaping: Smoking and the use of electronic cigarettes are prohibited inside the venue, including restrooms and corridors. Smoking is only permitted in the designated outdoor area.
- Alcohol & Illegal Substances: The consumption or trafficking of alcohol and illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. Any participant found under the influence and causing disruptions will be subject to immediate expulsion.
5. Software Integrity and IP Compliance
- Legal Responsibility: Participants are responsible for the data transmitted via the provided network infrastructure. The Organization requires full compliance with Intellectual Property Laws.
- Prohibited Content: The unauthorized copying of licensed software, copyrighted audiovisual material, or the sharing of pornographic content is strictly forbidden.
- Authorized Transfers: Only original work created during the event or software under open licenses (Open Source, Freeware, Shareware, Creative Commons) may be transferred over the local network.
- Liability: The Organization is not liable for the content stored on participants’ hardware or files shared by users.
6. Network Infrastructure and Security
- Shared Resources: Local Area Network (LAN) and Internet bandwidth are shared resources. Any attempt to sabotage the network (e.g., DDoS attacks, botnets, malware distribution, or unauthorized DHCP servers) will result in immediate expulsion and potential legal action.
- Endpoint Security: The Organization does not provide security for individual devices. Participants are strongly advised to maintain updated antivirus software, active firewalls, and the latest OS security patches.
- SLA Disclaimer: The Organization does not guarantee 100% network uptime if outages are caused by external providers or factors beyond our technical control.
7. Electrical and Communication Installations
- Power Supply: One certified power outlet is provided per participant. All connections meet current safety standards. The Organization is not liable for damage to electronic equipment connected to the grid.
- Ethernet Connectivity: One Ethernet cable is provided per user. Using multiple drops per person or swapping cables with neighbors is prohibited.
- Hardware Manipulation: Only authorized staff may operate network switches, electrical panels, or fiber optic infrastructure. Unauthorized tampering will lead to immediate disqualification.
8. Noise Control
- Audio Equipment: To ensure a focused environment, individual speakers are prohibited. Participants must use headphones for music, gaming, or media production.
- Seizure of Equipment: Any external speakers or hi-fi systems found will be confiscated until the end of the event.
- Environment: Participants must maintain a moderate volume, avoiding shouting or the use of air horns.
9. Theft and Loss Prevention
- Reporting: Thefts must be reported to the Security Head immediately. The Organization will cooperate with law enforcement and provide any gathered data for formal reports.
- Consequences: Identified offenders will be expelled immediately and blacklisted from future events.
- Lost Property: Found items will be held for a maximum of one month. If unclaimed, they will be disposed of.
- Liability Disclaimer: The Organization is not responsible for the loss or theft of personal property during the event.
10. Hardware Restrictions (Appliances)
- Power Allocation: Each station has four sockets intended exclusively for computing equipment.
- Prohibited Devices: Domestic appliances (fans, heaters, coffee makers, etc.) are forbidden as they risk causing voltage drops or tripping circuit breakers.
11. Food and Beverage Storage
- Refrigeration: Non-electrical portable coolers are permitted.
- Electrical Restrictions: Any cooling system requiring power (220V, USB, or PC power supply) is prohibited.
- Enforcement: Prohibited electrical coolers will be confiscated until the conclusion of the event.
12. Right of Admission
The Organization reserves the right to deny entry or expel any participant whose conduct is deemed offensive, illegal, or damaging to the event’s reputation or the safety of others.
